What When Where Submissions Begin

We have a REAL LIVE BURN coming your way and it will be loaded with experiences to enjoy September 16-19th!

We’re throwing open the gates to welcome your WWW (What When Where) event submissions through this form. We’ve kept it simple, but we do ask that you complete the form for EACH individual event you are hosting.

Can’t you just feel that excitement building? Does it not have you dreaming about the things you’ll soon explore? The friends you’ve been missing who will explore it at your side? It’s time to gather your plans and share them with your community!

Our WWW guide will launch early next week and it will be a living document, growing as you add events here. We'll add them roughly once every 48 hours until Sunday, September 12th when we’ll put a pin in it and call it done.

Things are about to get VERY exciting!

Our Volunteer Initiative Gets Underway

Our burn can only happen because you make it happen. Every single one of you (yes, we are looking at YOU specifically) is needed to contribute to help create the wonder and magic we build together.

Yesterday the architecture went live within our site. Today we’re pleased to roll out our volunteer initiative for 2021 as we race toward gathering on a shortened timeline this year. As such, we’re continuing our #OneBurnerOneShift initiative we’ve championed in years past and ask everyone attending to claim a shift (or more) to help. Our burn will be better for it!

Please visit mosaicexperiment.com/volunteersignup and sign up now. Also, please note that if you previously filled out the registration form, we won’t be contacting you individually. Simply sign up for the shifts you want instead.

Let’s do this! Become the burn magic we want to experience!

Gift Ticket Match-up 2021

First and foremost we want to thank the community for working together to help us come up with a system to address this need over the course of an afternoon. Due to having to cancel our event last year and increased costs related to running the event, we were unable to provide low income tickets for 2021. Although we hoped the generosity of the community would help fill this gap, we failed to provide a space to facilitate such transactions.

With input from the community (special thanks to Lady Bacchus), we have come up with the following system. With this form you can:

1. Request assistance with acquiring a ticket

2. Offer assistance partially funding a ticket

3. Offer a gift ticket

If you choose to self-identify, you may indicate if you are part of a marginalized community on your ticket assistance request. If not, you may choose “prefer not to answer.” If you are offering assistance funding a ticket or gifting an entire ticket, you may indicate if you prefer your assistance be first allocated to someone in a marginalized community.

Why do you want to know if I am part of a marginalized community?

We are seeking to make our event as inclusive as possible and we understand that within marginalized communities there are wealth disparities and financial barriers in place and we would like to help those folks overcome those barriers where possible.

How to purchase a gift ticket:

If you know the intended recipient’s legal name and email address, purchase the ticket normally and fill in this information.

If you do not know the recipient’s information, fill out the name as “GIFT TICKET.” If you are intending that ticket for a specific person, you will have to complete the ticket transfer form once you have their information. If you use the Gift Ticket Match-Up form, we will facilitate the ticket transfer.

Please understand that submitting this form does not ensure a ticket or financial assistance. We will facilitate as many matches as we can until tickets sell-out and ticket transfers close.

Mosaic 2021 Tickets Are Now On Sale

It is time to purchase your tickets for Mosaic Experiment 2021: Off And On Again!

Can you fathom where we are at this moment? How far we’ve come to get here? Well, please fathom it quickly as there is a ticket cap of 450, they are selling well already and when they are gone they are gone.

It’s like you want to get back to a burn or something? It's time to come home so please be sure to get all the important details by visiting mosaicexperiment.com/tickets plus the purchase link is at the bottom of the page.

Lifting The Lid On Our Porto Game

We aren’t full of sh*t, and your portos won’t be either. We’re currently putting together an info dump regarding the ticketing process which goes live Sunday, but while we’re still digesting, here’s an update on this year’s porto situation.

We are stepping up our porto and sanitation game for Mosaic 2021 with extra hand wash stations and handicap accessibility increasing this year. We’re also ramping up the rate at which the portos are cleaned and getting more aggressive with those sanitizer refills so you have a moderately fresher burn experience!

More resources, easier positioning for access and just like that this one aspect of your burn experience just got a bit better.

Effigy and Temple Submissions Open

Do you know how much we appreciate artists in our burn community? You should because each and every one of you are or can be an artist at Mosaic Experiment! Want to build something insanely outrageous? Beautiful? Interactive? Weird, odd, and charming? We want to hear your concepts for our 2021 Effigy and Temple!

This year we have allotted $1000 each, 1k for effigy and 1k for temple, to support your projects. What is the most important thing to know? We are on a TIGHT TIMELINE so we are opening the gates for proposals today and closing them on July 23rd anticipating announcing our selections by July 28th. Due to the shortened timeline, we will not be reaching out to artists to ask clarifying questions about their art. We will gladly answer any questions you have BEFORE the deadline, but please ensure your plans are complete upon submission. Incomplete submissions will be grounds for disqualification.

Before you start your preparations, visit mosaicexperiment.com/artgrants paying particular attention to the resources on that page (especially the prohibited burn materials). We invite you to dig deep, find that idea you know is there and bring it to life!

It all starts by filling out your application here.

It's Time To Come Home!

We are thrilled to announce it’s time to come home!

Mosaic Experiment will be IN PERSON for September 16th-19th, 2021. We are so excited to join you as we return to the razor grass of Reclaim to burn together once again. We’ve missed you and appreciate the understanding you’ve shown as we worked out how to build and keep our burn safe for all who can attend.

With this update, we’re unleashing the big announcements rapid fire below. We will return to each point (and others not mentioned here) in separate updates to explain and make sure you have everything you need as we build this burn together over the next few weeks.

For the 2021 Mosaic Experiment:
- Our theme will be “Off And On Again”
- Attendees will be required to provide proof of COVID vaccination
- The minimum age to attend this year’s burn will be 12 years or older
- Tickets will go on sale later this week and are once again set at $90
- Tickets will be capped at 450 attendees
- We are adding a temple this year
- Art grants will be awarded for effigy / temple

We know you have a lot of questions, especially as they relate to timelines, cut off dates, the ticketing process, theme camp registration, volunteer initiatives and so much more. We will begin rolling out a series of updates starting tomorrow addressing every aspect of this year’s Experiment so there is much more to come.

That said, the countdown to gate reopening has officially begun!
