Need-Based Ticket Program UPDATE!

In an attempt to meet as many requests as possible without leaving anyone scrambling at the last minute to get their ticket, the NBT program will STOP accepting requests after this Friday, August 26th, at 11:59pm. All requesters will be notified if their request was able to be met by Wednesday, September 14th. Any remaining unmet requests will be issued a ticket code and have an opportunity to purchase a full price ticket before ticket sales end on Wednesday September 21st..

To make a request, please fill out the Need Based Ticket Requests & Donations Form.

Requesters:  KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR EMAIL!

You should have recently received a program update letting you know your placement in line.  You will receive regular updates over the next three weeks, and you will be notified via email if funding becomes available for your request.

If you can't find the email, search "Mosaic Experiment NBT" and look in your spam.  If you still can't find it, email NBT@mosaicexperiment.com.

If your request cannot be met, you will be notified by Wednesday, September 14th and have an opportunity to purchase a full price ticket before ticket sales end on Wednesday, September 21st. DO NOT purchase a ticket without this code, even if it looks like tickets are going to sell out.  Your ticket will be accounted for with this code

.

If you purchase a regular ticket before the program closes, it will be assumed you no longer need the requested funding to secure a ticket and your request will be removed from the queue.

If you no longer need funding or require a lesser amount than initially requested, please respond to the update email you received or email us at NBT@mosaicexperiment.com so we can update or list accordingly.

Donors:  We need your help!

If you have the means and would like to make a donation to the program, donations can be sent to NBT@mosaicexperiment.com on PayPal.  Current requests range from $40 to the full price of a ticket, but any amount can be utilized!

If you would like to donate an entire ticket or would like to provide more information regarding your intended donation, please fill out the Need Based Ticket Requests & Donations Form and keep an eye on your email! A program facilitator will reach out shortly with further details.

2022 Vaccination Policy

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!

~~~
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT! ~~~
Having recently announced our upcoming ticket sales for Mosaic Experiment 2022: Off and On again, you may be asking, “What is the Vaccination Policy for 2022?”
We will be requiring all attendees to be fully vaccinated as defined by the CDC:
  • 2 weeks (14 days) since a person received one dose of an accepted single-dose-series COVID-19 vaccine (e.g., Janssen/J&J); OR
  • 2 weeks (14 days) since a person’s second dose in a 2-dose series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine; OR
  • 2 weeks (14 days) since a person received the full series of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine (not placebo) in a clinical trial; OR
  • 2 weeks (14 days) since the person received 2 doses of any “mix-and-match” combination of accepted COVID-19 vaccines listed in Table 2 administered at least 17 days apart.
If you are not yet fully vaccinated, please use this guide below to help you plan:
  • Pfizer: 1st dose by August 17th, 2nd dose by September 14th
  • Moderna: 1st dose by August 10th, 2nd dose by September 14th
  • Johnson & Johnson: single dose by September 14th.
If you purchase a ticket and have not received your final dose by September 14th, 2022, you will not be admitted to the event and your ticket will not be refunded.
What about boosters? Though we are not currently requiring booster shots in order to attend, we are highly recommending them, as they have been shown to significantly decrease risk of serious illness or hospitalization from the Delta and Omicron variants. If in doubt, get boosted!
Exemptions to being vaccinated: we will be making exceptions for children ages 0-5 due to the lack of an approved vaccine dose for that age bracket and their lower risk profile, as well as for those who qualify due to a valid medical reason as determined by the CDC: i.e., those who have had a severe allergic reaction after a first vaccine dose or have a known allergy to a component of the vaccine. If you fall into one of these exemptions, you MUST email us at gate@mosaicexperiment.com by September 15, 2022 to provide verification of this exemption.
Our wonderful Gate team will be checking your physical vaccine card or a screenshot of your digital vaccine record or a full photo of the card with all information clearly visible along with your ID when you arrive. If you are vaccinated but have misplaced your card, please contact your medical provider or the service location where you received your vaccine in order to obtain a replacement card or record as you will need this in order to attend! Please direct all questions you may have to gate@mosaicexperiment.com
We appreciate you doing your part by practicing the principle of Civic Responsibility and getting vaccinated to help ensure we have as safe a burn as reasonably possible when it comes to taking precautions against the spread of COVID-19 and its variants. If needs arise, we will be providing updates to this policy as we get closer to this year’s Mosaic Experiment. See you on the Razorgrass!
A Few Things To Remember As You Burn
At a burn there are very few rules and radical self expression is radically encouraged. That said, we do have a few which are shared as a reminder at Gate. Just thought it couldn't hurt to drop them here as a general reminder as we roll into day two. Yesterday was amazing. It only gets wilder from here!
BE RADICALLY EXCELLENT TO ONE ANOTHER
Mosaic Experiment is a burn community dedicated to respectful communication. Healthy discussions are welcomed and encouraged. While disagreement is natural, civil conversation is expected. We practice Radical Self Expression combined with Civic Responsibility and Radical Inclusion.
If someone asks you to leave them alone, do so. Verbal assaults, especially of a continued, aggressive, and/or sexual nature constitute harassment, including microaggressions. Degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
DIGITAL DECOMMODIFICATION
No spam. No advertisement or promotion. Posts of this nature may be deleted, and you may be removed from the group for repeated postings.
RESPECT PRIVACY
Screen capturing and/or recording is not permitted. Please do not post pictures from anyone's webcam but your own.
NEED HELP?
To request a ranger use the !ranger command, or simply use the phrases "Ranger Help" or "I Need A Ranger".
Now get in there and play! It's your burn. Let's go build it together starting at https://discord.gg/ZfuEGHQ.
What When Where Guide Reopens
Do you have art to share, fun things to experience, talks to unveil, music to create, gatherings to host? We want it all to be part of our 2021 burn so please let us know so we can help spread the word through our WWW (What When Where) Guide. We're jumping back into the action and reopening our guide for your submissions.
We initially rolled it out toward the end of July but we've now retooled it for our digital burn. You can find the updated version by visiting: form.jotform.com/212437412171143
The WWW guide will be a living documents and will be updated regularly throughout the gathering this year. Unlike years past, submissions to the guide do not close, and will remain open until the end of the burn weekend. As we re-share the growing guide later this week, be sure to check back often as you never know what new plans the community may add to your upcoming burn!
Ticket Refund Details Unveiled
Since the announcement last week to cancel the in-person event this year, we have received an outpouring of messages and responses with an incredible show of support and solidarity for the most difficult decision we have had to make all year.
Thank you. All of you. You have our sincerest gratitude for the love and care each of you have shown us. This has most certainly been a humbling experience and we seriously cherish each and every one of you.
We know you have a lot of questions regarding ticket refunds and we have been working diligently to compile a FAQ to cover everything you might want to know; we truly appreciate your patience during this process.
𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟏: 𝐎̶𝐟̶𝐟̶ ̶+̶ ̶𝐎̶𝐧̶ ̶𝐀̶𝐠̶𝐚̶𝐢̶𝐧̶ 𝐎𝐧 + 𝐎𝐟𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐀𝐐
𝐀: Under normal operating years, yes. However, we feel it’s best to refund as much of the ticket money as we are able to. We will be refunding all tickets sold, as close to the original ticket price as we can while still enabling us to continue in the future as an organization and an event. Due to operational expenses and non-recoverable processing fees, ticket refunds will be $82.00 for all tickets purchased in 2021. If you have a rollover ticket from 2020, your refund amount may not be the same due to different ticket pricing for that year.
𝐐: 𝘊𝘢𝘯 𝘐 𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘮𝘺 𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘰 2022?
𝐀: Unfortunately, we will not be offering that as an option this year. We don’t yet know what 2022 may hold in terms of insurance costs, rental fees, what our event capacity may be, or even continuing public health concerns surrounding COVID-19 and want to make sure that access next year is open and equitable to everyone.
𝐀: Yes. While we are not rolling over tickets this year, we would be extremely grateful and fully welcome if you wish to donate all or even a portion of your ticket refund to help us keep the experiment going. This money will greatly help everything from operational costs to art grants. If you would like to contribute by donating your ticket refund, please let us know by contacting us before September 3rd, 2021 at: tickets@mosaicexperiment.com
Mosaic Experiment No Longer In-Person For 2021
This afternoon, we’d like to address the public health crisis we’ve watched return to our communities over the last few weeks. The rapidly spreading delta variant of COVID-19 proved to be the one guest we didn’t invite, yet here it is knocking at our door demanding our attention. After seeking the counsel of medical professionals, considering new data regarding transmission among vaccinated groups, and weighing every option we could consider, we’re writing to sincerely apologize and acknowledge that the lights must go off once again.
We are deeply saddened to share that we have cancelled our in-person Mosaic Experiment for 2021. Please understand, this was unquestionably the hardest decision we’ve ever made.
We know this isn’t the news anyone wants to read and we’ve struggled with it, but the growing public health risk to our participants, staff and neighbors wasn’t something we could weather. Furthermore, there is a financial side to this decision which we have to acknowledge. Our insurance would have been five times the normal cost and we are reaching a point in our planning where our financial commitments would become locked in place for the event. Were we forced to shut down in mid-September, we wouldn’t be able to afford to burn in 2022, and this would be financially devastating for us in the long term.
We, as a community, have been particularly diligent in embracing Civic Responsibility this year. In that spirit, we simply could not justify taking a risk regarding public safety or our burn’s long term survival as the virus spreads once again. As we’ve watched other events in Ohio cancel or postpone to the fall, we also looked at pushing our dates back into October, but due to scheduling conflicts, this unfortunately wasn’t an option.
We will be issuing further updates over the next few days, including addressing all your ticketing questions. Please understand we’re refocusing our efforts as quickly as we can now. That said, we are excited to return to the digital burn playground we built in 2020 and shift our creative gears toward new ways we can gather virtually, September 16th-19th, 2021. We will still burn together, just in a slightly different way once again. We thank you for staying at our side, being so supportive and showing us that there is hope ahead, even if the lights go on and off sometimes. We will build the world we want together, again and again, in the years ahead.
